At Maplehurst Outdoor Living, we love projects that bring people together — especially when there’s a great view involved. Previously, we partnered with two hotels in Clarksville, VA, to create outdoor spaces designed for relaxing, dining, and taking in the beauty of nearby Kerr Lake. Each space had its own goals but shared one simple idea: don’t leave guests stuck inside.

Hotel #1: Covered Patio by the Lake

The first hotel wanted a space where guests could gather, unwind, and enjoy the lakefront scenery. We designed and built a 40' x 40' paver patio positioned to capture the best water views. Along the lake side of the patio, we added a sleek L-shaped seating wall, offering plenty of room for guests to sit, chat, and soak up the atmosphere.

Behind that seating wall, we installed large rip rap stone along the shoreline. Not only does it keep the area safe and limit direct access to the water, but it also complements the natural surroundings and adds texture to the landscape.

To complete the space, we built a 20' x 20' covered pavilion in the corner of the patio. Topped with a classic cupola, the structure adds charm while providing shade and shelter for dining, grilling, or lakeside conversations — rain or shine.

Hotel #2: A Stylish, Functional Outdoor Retreat

The second hotel wanted something equally functional and spacious. Our team designed a paver patio that’s both easy to maintain and built to last. With decades of combined experience and extensive training through our manufacturers, our crews know how to deliver a clean, organized installation that minimizes disruption for guests and staff.

The final result is an outdoor social space that’s ideal for traveling workers and vacationers alike. It’s a spot where guests can step outside, fire up the grill, and enjoy a casual evening after a long day on the road.

A Shared Vision: Better Guest Experiences

Both projects reflect what we believe in at Maplehurst: outdoor spaces should be designed for real people, in real moments. Whether it’s a lakeside event, a quiet morning coffee, or coworkers unwinding at sunset, these patios give hotel guests a reason to linger a little longer.

Thinking about adding an outdoor space to your commercial property? Whether it’s a hotel patio, restaurant courtyard, or lakeside retreat, our team is ready to help you create a space your guests will remember. Contact us today to start your design consultation.
